2010 A Year of Opportunity

2010 is like a box of chocolates…..you never know what you are going to get!!! What does your crystal ball say? Recovery done…..minimal home buyership and more migration BACK to well-managed apartments providing value to the residents as they provide consistent NO SUPRISES type of management. The economy is truly showing signs of coming back. But back is yet to be defined. It won’t be the same as it was, yet I truly believe that the best is behind us. Fortunatley or unfortunately, unemployement will remain high. Is this good…or is this bad. It might and might well challenge our marketing abilities and hone our focus on leasing skills (HEAVEN FORBID we need to REALLY SELL!!!). Yet this unemployment will also provide the ability to HIRE the BEST…. There are many very skilled individuals out of work in the marketplace that want to work with a company that provides several simple things:

1. Work for a paycheck
2. A benefit package
3. Good leadership and the ability to grow

If you happen to have all three….MAN you can really take your company to the next level!!!! But it will take significant work on your part as well as a full and complete evaluation of your companies’ abiltity to TEACH. My philosophy is to hire people with high energy and good problem solving skills and then teach them the business. But it takes work….are you “ready to take the plunge”. Teaching, REAL teaching takes work…every day…every call, and every email.
